Hi guys, I just received a Polk Audio SR6500 set from a family member, but it doesn't have any wiring diagrams or anything for the crossovers, I've never dealt with crossovers before, so if y'all would be so kind to maybe throw some around or some advice on simple thinks like best grounding places or best ways to get sound to the crossover then to the speakers?

Thank you guys, I'm kinda new to car audio and the like, so please be easy on me.

PS. I'm not just posting this here and twiddling my thumbs till y'all find what I need, I'm gonna be looking myself also.

Congrats on maybe the best car speakers you'll ever set ears on.

    Here's the manual - http://www.polkaudio.com/downloads/manuals/car/SR6500_SR5250Manual.pdf

If you don't want to read it well, it's easy as heck to do. Tweeter will be wired to the tweeter portion of your crossover making sure to connect the positive wire of your tweeter to the positive terminal on the crossover and so forth with your mid-bass drivers. Obviously the other terminal is your negative.

If you are running off a single 2-channel amp or from your headunit, make sure the 'jumpers' (red tabs) are in place. On the output end of your crossover, connect speaker wire to that and out to your amp or headunit (maintaining polarity).

In all honesty, those speakers deserve some power behind them to really enjoy them.

    Btw, welcome to the forum!

    Thanks!

I found the Manual, but didn't notice any wiring instructions? Maybe I'm just missing it? I'm curious as to how I get sound from my receiver, to the crossover, then so forth.

I would love to get at least a 200watt amp to give these speakers so power but sadly that isn't quite in my 16 y/o budget.

    Thank you again.

Generally, one uses an RCA cable that runs from the rear of your receiver to your amp. The amp then connects to the crossovers according to the crossover manual and is dependent on how you are wiring them. (Jumpers or no jumpers) Check your receiver manual, it should help.

Here's something you may not know about those crossovers. If you push too much current through them (by turning it up too loud), you will see the "fuses" start to glow. They are specially designed to dissipate excess current by transforming it into light. If you see this happening turn it down. The tweeters can blow. This is a good test to check how loud you can play your music. Play a "busy" track. Aka hard rock, intense rap, etc. Turn it up until you see the "fuses" begin to glow. Turn it down until you no longer notice this. Remember the volume setting on your receiver and never go past this number.

this is a stupidly late post but I really appreciate it! I'm gonna hook them up in my brothers Paseo this weekend and hope it turns out good. again, I appreciate it!

Also, my little 55wx4 head unit seems to be able to push them beyond their rated power easily? even fiddling with the bass/trebble and mid settings it still sounds distorted at wide open volume, and anything below wide open isn't very loud. I dunno, maybe I'm just dumb. lol
