Pair of A9s on the ebay site for $1100.
Pair of A7s on the ebay site for $760.
Pair of LSi9s on the ebay site for $700.

I have a HSU VTF-2 MK3. Listening 50/50. ~4000sqft room. Power is no object

The simple question: is the price is right to pull the trigger on one of these?

I'm a bargain hunter and I rarely get the top of the line. Do you think Polk's prices on these will go up, or down, or stay flat? I'm patient since I have Monitor 70s.

Do you think when the LSiMs hit, the LSi9s will drop, thus making them the bargain of the set? You think the LSi9 price will affect the RTi line at all?

I swear this is my last time posing this type of question. Next post will be about what I actually purchased

Its a little like the stock market, if you buy a stock, it almost for certain will soon be avaliable at less than you paid for it, ( just kidding) if you buy from polk direct my experience has been whatever I bought suddenly in a rather short time is avaliable for less!

It really depends on how much inventory is lying around in the LSi line. They kept making the Monitors for newegg because it's the gateway drug for Polk Audio. LSi production has probably stopped. So there will be some wicked deals in certain spots in the country, but I doubt they last long. I do think the price will come down on them shortly. RTiAs are still a new series. Those look like pretty good prices which could fluctuate up and down over the next couple of years depending on inventory.

    Combo rig:

I will tell you that I don't see the RTi A series changing much because that have already gotten fairly low. I bought them because of the they were a really great deal.

You may find a nice hook up on the LSi9's but I don't think any sale on those will last long or be large in offering. You might miss it when it happens.

OK, so I've got it narrowed down to 2 now.

    RTiA7
    RTiA9
    RTi10
    RTi12

I think I may buy a cheaper mountain bike and put the extra $$ toward stepping up to the A9s. But do I really need them when I have a nice sub? I'm really thinking the A9s would rock alone, but with a sub, I might be better getting the A7s. Well, not better, but sufficient?

    Need to be frugal.

The midrange is better with the A9's, but you will absolutely need a power amp to get them singing.
