Bi-Amping Yamaha RXV567BL with Monitor 70's

In the last month I have finally got new stereo equipment, haven't bought a new stereo in 16 years. My friend turned me onto a Yamaha RXV567BL receiver that was on a good deal. Since then I have also bought a psw505 sub and a CS10 center (with the intent of getting some TSi400's for mains) After a car repair bill I decided to go with the Monitor 70's for mains and some Monitor 30's for surrounds to complete my system a little cheaper and a bigger main. I was wondering if anyone had used a Yamaha RXV567BL receiver to bi-amp there mains. It shows in the manual that the back surrounds if not in use can be added to the mains by selecting bi-amp mode. Does it give more power to the mains and actually sound better? Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of set up.

It's not necessary, and the benefits, if any, will not even outweigh the cost of the cheapest speaker wire. Speaking of wire, find yourself some decent quality wire, and cut some short lengths to replace the jumpers, and you'll be golden.

More times than not, it actually drops the amount power to all the channels. Do what mdaudioguy suggested, you'll get better results.

Thanks guys, from what I read searching around here since the post that seams to be the thought, leave it the way I have it. Don't bi-amp. I never would have thought about swapping out the jumpers with speaker wire. Does that make a noticable difference?

Not really, we just suggest it to see how well you follow directions.

I'm joking. Yes, it does make a difference. Try it and report back.

I used all the wire I had running to my surrounds so i'll have to get more before I can try it out.
