Speaker Protection?

My nephew just brought over his 3yr. old and my mint RTA15's are out in the open. I would come unglued if little hands smashed my speakers. Any ideas as to what might work to protect the drivers so something doesn't ever happen? Most people have no idea what serious damage this could do.
It would be nice to have them protected for when I'm not using them or little terrorists show up when I'm not home.

Thanks!

Electric fence, Pitbull with a temper, Armed Guard.

Really the best method I have found is to tell the parents in no uncertain terms to keep there children clear of my S###. It seems harsh but explain cost of replacement and they understand.

You have to set the house rules on what is to be expected on how children will behave or monitored at "Your House".

Best thing to do is to invite him over but to let him know that your house is not "Baby" proof and there are a lot of very expensive items that a child could break.

If he has a problem with the rules then maybe a change of venue to their house would be a better plan of action until his children are old enough to know/understand what can and cannot be touched.

I gotta go with joe here.

You could also do a test run with the small person. Bring him up to the speakers and play some music. Chances are the hands will move toward the speaker, at that point BARK. I did this with my daughter (almost 2 years) a few times and she got the idea pretty quick.

Alternately you could just turn the drivers to the wall while all ankle biters are in the area.
    Sounds good to me...

Reminds me of how I handled a similiar incident once. Short story....4 year old boy I use to call Satan Spawn, mother that never punished or made little Satan Spawn mind. Me telling the little $hit to stop knocking over my cd's for the 3rd time. After the 3rd time of the mother not doing a thing but sitting on her @ss taking to my wife, I tell Spawn myself...that the next time I will whip his @ss myself. He sticks his tongue out at me while knocking over another cd!

Needless to say I ended up whipping his @ss while he was hanging midair from 1 arm. He was hanging from the other arm by me! Mother never came back over to our house. Problem solved.

Not a recommendation mind you. Just an experience.

Funny you mention that. I used to call my old neighbors kid Lucifer.
I was always trained as a kid to keep my hands off other peoples property.

Land mines, tazers, blow torch, and electro-shock treatment are pretty effective for such a situation. Electric gated fences running 1000 volts at 50 amps near a puddle also solves such problems. And holes in the ground covered with rugs are pretty effective.

Just make sure you explain that your home has become a warzone and that you have no control over what happens or what holes will suddenly appear.

No need to get into details on what your electric bill could look like.
Statistics show that 98% of us will die at some point in our lifetime.

The other 2% will work for WalMart.
