7.1 setup

Hi all, I am thinking about replacing my surround speakers (aged Bose 501's) with polk surround speakers. My Pioneer VSX-1016TXV is 7.1 capable and I was thinking of getting 4 new surround speakers. I would like to place 2 pair of speakers on either side as running wires to the back of the room is not practical. Space is also a problem so smaller speakers are better (such as Blackstone, RM, OWM). Is this a good idea, I was reading about Bipole/Dipole speakers but the ones I found on your site were larger than I want.
Any thoughts?

If your room is not a large room, you may not notice any real improvment from doing 7.1 setup. Most people will fine 5.1 in smaller rooms to be more than enough with good AVR, speakers, sub, and proper placement.Fronts: Polk RTi A9
Center: Polk CSI A6
Rears: Polk RTi A7
Receiver: Pioneer Elite SC-35 (140 watts x 7)
Amplifier: Adcom GFA-555 Mk.II (200 watt @ 8 ohms)
Sub: Polk DSW PRO 500 (10 inch, 200 Watt)
TV: Samsung 59 inch 3D Plasma 600 Hz PN59D7000
Sources: Samsung BD-D6700 3D Blu-ray Player, DirecTV, PS3, iPhone 4 and IPod Classic with Apple Lossless Tracks
