I tried to visit the forums yesterday and was met with a message that I was banned forever for posting Spam. This was a surprise for sure as I am of course not a spammer. The day before I had reported a few spam posts but nothing out of the ordinary. I dont know what to do to get this corrected so I thought I would make an account and post here. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Banned username - PacketJones

    So, just for clarity....

I "reported" a post last night when I noticed that he may have been banned by accident, typed a small message and hit submit. I thought this went straight to the moderators. Is this not the case?

If not, what might be the best way to report a possible accidental banning such as this? I was just gonna PM a moderator but figured that it wouldn't work as quickly if that particular mod was on vacation or whatnot.

    Welcome back Not-a-Spammer!

That's a good question. We had a troll on the car audio side a while back posting some pretty derogatory things and I personally reported a bunch. I hit "report post", typed a small description and hit "send". After several days I sent a PM to a mod. A few days later I got a response that asked for a link to the post. After a few more days they got deleted. The typical spam posts seem to take a while to get zapped too.

I realize nobody pays attention to us bozos on the car audio side but are we reporting posts wrong or something?

The way it works on other forums is that when you report a post, it gets sent out to the email addresses of all the current mods. It also gets added to a special "mods only" section of the forum as a notification. Not sure how it works here.

I had reported tons of posts in the past that were spam. I am not sure what made this one any different. I am sure it was more a mistake than anything else.
