Durable/Disposable Headphones?

Am I the only one who goes through headphones faster than pens/pencils? Every month or two I break a pair of headphones. This is my current one, finally completely broken after nearly two months.
First, the wrapping cracked and broke around the mini jack.. I glued it. Then the left headphone went out, I cut it. After that, the glue failed to hold up... finally the headphone fell apart and the wire completely separated at the mini jack on the same day. I seriously need like a pack of 100 disposable headphones.. or something that won't fall apart.

I had the same issue. I eventually purchased a pair of Sennheiser MX 471's. They have lasted a while and are still in great shape. They have a 2 year warranty.Front - RTiA5's

I have a friend who is a runner and goes through headphones like mad. He has tried the Zaggs and the Sennheiser Sports. Both companies have stood behind their products and provided replacements. He is thinking about going bluetooth.Stan

That's interesting. I've been thinking about going bluetooth as well. Problem is, the best ones I found are the Motorola S9-HD. I hear that they are heavy in the back and hurt your ears after a while. Not to mention that I would use them for working out, so they would be a pain to use for any laying down or behind the head exercise.
I saw some ear buds that were bluetooth a while ago, but they were pretty big. I dunno if any advances have come along in that area recently. -
I have two pairs that still work. First pair is a 4 year old set of in ear bose second set is a 5 month old set of klipsch s4. Do not buy cheap and take care that is my advice.HT setup

Just finally destroyed my first pair of earbuds likely ever. Not sure how or what happened, but the 'grill' over the driver on one bud finally pulled off on my old set of buds that came with my iPod. Definitely had them quite a while.George Grand wrote: »

Just depends on how hard you treat them and how well they are put together. I go through a lot of earphones, but only because I like to try new sound. Had my current exercise pair (Sennheiser PMX680) for over a year now, though, and those are the ones that get mistreated the most.
What's the set in the original post? I don't recognize it.My HT

They look like the Apple buds that come with an iPod and have been run over by a lawn mower.Stan

Those Apple buds are, were, and ever will be crap.
I've personally trashed at least 4 pairs.
If you are not looking for super sound Sony makes a pretty cheap earbud (I think around $25) that are far more comfortable and durable. I wear mine at work all the time.Sounds good to me... -
