Studio 40 V.2 + Studio Center V.2
I'm trying to determine the value of these two items together: 2 studio 40 V.2 speakers and one Studio 40 V.2 center. They are in pretty good condition. I am looking to buy them. I feel that the guy is asking too much but am not sure. They are the cherry finish. I don't want to lowball but the guy is being very difficult.

You don't see them for sale very often. The cherry finish could demand a premium. You say 'pretty good condition' meaning dings and scratches? Do they come with stands? If not I would think $550-$600 for just the stereo pair unless they are really rough. The range on these could be anywhere from $500 to $700 probably depending on condition. Not sure about the center channel.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. Well I really want the speakers. The guy is old and crotchety and doesn't want to deal with whippersnappers (almost 30 here). He wants 700 for the fronts and 400 for the center. Meh. I just can't find any other pricing information.

I would say $700 would be for mint condition or near-mint with stands for just the fronts. Without stands and in 7 out of 10 condition I would say $900 for all should be fair. Then again, they aren't available very often on the used market. I think $1100 is too optimistic though for v.2's unless in as-new condition. dragon1952,
Thank you for your help. I ended up buying them @ $900. They fronts are cherry and the center is black. There is not one single scratch on them. Any of them. They also came with the J50 stands.
erm...now i need rears? lol -

What kind of report ? I can take pics tonight. At work right now.

I think that's a pretty good deal. Good job. I owned the Studio 40 V.1's for a while and liked them a lot. Would love to hear them in my current system.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. So a while back, I went audio crazy. The main reason I posted here was because a friend told me that this forum had a lot of nice people. I know these aren't polk speakers .
Anyway, my speaker buying rule was that I would buy a few things, A/B them, and sell what I didn't like. I wanted to build a home theater system and bought this and that trying to figure out what I liked. I was given a free pair of Bang & Olufsen RL140s (All the woofers were shot but I refoamed them) and that sparked my whole insanity. They are very interesting speakers too. They sound excellent, especially with the refoam and recap.
The reason I wanted these (studio 40s) was because I have been using Definitive Technology Mythos One towers as my fronts. I do not have the matching center for them. They sound good--great highs but I found the mids and lows rather lacking--somewhat...hollow?
I wanted something with more balls. These Studio 40s really do sound great. I'm going to have to A/B them soon with the Mythos towers but I'm already fairly certain I'm going to keep the Studio 40s.
Pictures as promised:
