i'm a real newbie at fixing stuff with a soldering iron:redface:...any way i am in the process of fixing up my 1980 ibanez...i put some pickups in but needed longer wires....i used regular speaker wire...while testing, the guitar hums, buzzes and crackles...it does play, tho..i did wire the selector switch backwards:biggrin: anyway...is the noise from the wire i used???

thanks

What model is it? Are the ground wires soldered? Not familiar with your guitar but some have a ground wire from the input jack to the volume pot. Some have a ground wire going to the "claw" on the back where the tremolo springs attach. Got pics?
