Matched Quad Ei EL-34 Tubes plus 3 matched spares

For sale are 7 Ei EL-34 tubes in working condition. I bought these from another forum member last year and used four of them for a couple of months. I'm selling because they aren't the sound I'm looking for in my system. I probably put around 150-200hrs on them. The other three are unused by me. I'll classify them all as gently used since I dont' know if they were used or NOS when I bough them. These are in the yellow boxes with blue Magnoval stripe and say Ei Yugoslavia on the tubes.

As far as matching is concerned, they were matched when I bought them but I don't have any tube testing gear to confirm on my end.

I'm asking $200 shipped OBO for all 7. Paypal gift OK.

    I believe these are originals. I'll post some pics tonight.

    As to the reason I'm selling, I just found that they sounded muddier in my system than I wanted. I know that tubes aren't on the bright end anyway but for whatever reason (maybe because I was running all stock tubes at the time) I just found them lacking more high-end detail than the stock tubes. Prior to both the stock and Ei's, I had some reissue Mullards that came with the amp and I enjoyed those until they EOL'd.

    Since going back to the stock EH EL34 tubes, I have replaced the stock 12AX7 with a 1950's Valvo and the 12AU7's with 1950's telefunkens and have found a great increase in detail. I suppose I could try the Ei's again now that I've replaced the other tubes just to see what they sound like. I would almost rather sell these and put the money towards some nice 6922's for the Pre2L.

    Hope that clarifies it a bit.

    I found the Eis in my amp 1 with rca clear tops and 5751 Sylvania bp 3 mica D getter to be magic.

    AMperex EC88 or EC188s to be a great choice in the PRE2L

    Tracy, I those Ei's you're talking about were the matched quads of 6CA7's you bought from F1? The ones I'm selling that I got from him were not the 6CA7's but the straight EL-34's and I'm not sure what the differences would be sonically .

    Yeah I am not sure of the differences either.

    There are no re-issues, Ei has been out of business for a long time now.

    IIRC, the matched quad was NOS and the matched 3 had very low hours on them.

    Zingo PMd me and says he wants four of them. Do you want the other 3? I told him $20ea plus $11 USPS priority mail. I grabbed both the $5 and $11 boxes just now and I wouldn't feel comfortable with sending them in the smaller boxes. Not enough room for bubble wrap.
