I'm sure this question has been asked before but couldn't find the txt.

IF, I set my receiver to 4ohm to run my 8ohm speakers, do I push more power through them and, is there any detriment to the receiver?

I hope the answer was no. That 4 ohm switch is a current limiter to protect the AVR, not some magical device that widens the pipe.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE
