I've been looking for a low priced but capable amp for my SDA 2B's. Read a few comments in here that this is a decent sounding "warm" amp. Not real powerful but from what I've read quite capable of driving the 2B's, but I think this amp is a bit on the old side. There is one @ $139 shipped which is in my budget but should I look for something not as aged since I'm not able to replace caps, etc?
Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub.

I've currently got a 7155 (the receiver that contains the same amp section) hooked up to my 2B's and have never had a problem... plenty powerful, louder than I need it to be at 10 o'clock for most recordings. And I really dig the Japan-era NAD gear (have had a couple other pieces from this run along the way too). I've never had to replace caps on anything from that period, but did have to deoxit some pots and ground screws, and the speaker wire binding posts don't accept bananas, which is a pain.

Totally agree stuff from that era was great. The NAD won't be the warmest amp in the world but it should sound quite good with your 2B's.
