Has anyone ever used or had any dealings with this amp? There is a 5x125 on the gon I'm looking at, wondering if its worth it.

Thanks.

As I asked this question it has sold. But there is a Acurus 100x3 also. Any help would be great.

    I have a pioneer vsx-23 for a pre-amp, driving Def Tech promonitor 1000's and a procenter 2000.

From what I can gather, those speaks have a 4-8 ohm variance, meaning they can dip that low under certain conditions. Your receiver, however, is probably struggling with that. Look for a tad beefier of an amp to make those babies sing. Nice speakers btw. The Acurus will work, but I think you can do better.

Acurus was the "budget" line of Aragon. Nice amps for sure, if the price is right. They all can suffer from 2 issues. The power led indicator almost always fails and many times the power switch can fail, but much less often than the led.

These are well built, beefy amps that sound better than their price in the day would indicate. I would think they would be great in an HT set-up with harder to drive speakers like LSi's.
