    I know!
I got Monitor 60s and am seriously considering getting the 70s.
The 60s are cool but. . . can't help feeling like I want a bit more juice from my floorstanders.

I already upgraded from a cs1 to a cs2 and that was very satisfying!
just got early onset upgrade-itis i suppose.

I own the 70s and 60s...and to my ears the 70s are not just a step above the 60s, but more like a giant leap above the 60s. The 60s are awesome surrounds, but for the front stage, not much beats the 70s at this price point...I also paid 179 for them from the egg about 2 months ago.

hi 1st time post here. been reading alot of reviews for the monitor 70's n tsi500s. the things that makes me nervous is shipping. after reading a few horror stories about damaged speakers, plus never actually hearing these speakers in person, almost makes me want to just but the 500s just because i can do it in person. but if the stats n reviews are acurate, then getting the 70's would save me enough money i could get a decent sub. also, would i gain anything buy getting 2 good bookshelfs instead?
    my stuff:
    yamaha rxv1065
2 polk tsi 100 for fronts
    polk c10 center
8" sub/rear/sides from previous sony HTIB
    ps3
    sony 46" lcd.
im buying a house that has an open floorplan tile/laminate floors vaulted cielings, open to kitchen, dinning, hallway. windows, sliding glass door. would bookshelfs even be an option?
oh, & this system is used exclusively for HT not music. thanx

Thats the system we use here in America. Shipping is life. By now you know your local UPS/Fedex/USPS person yes?

Bookshelfs do not sound as good as floorstanders under all configurations and music types. But sometimes they do. That's what I have learned from reading, I don't actually have a pair.

Same speakers, same cabinets, different crossovers. Basically the same speaker. If you like the sound of the 500 you should like the 70. They are too similar for you to not.

i would think newegg would stand behind goods damaged through shipping. It might cause more hassle on your end if something does get damaged, but i think you'd be fine as far as the product is concerned.

I haven't heard too many complaints about products shipped from newegg.

    +1.....

any other opinions on moving from 60's to these 70's? I do about 25% music, 25% movies, and 50% gaming. I've got a PSW-505 which handles bass pretty well. right now I've got the crossover set at 80. would the 70's be worth the upgrade? what's the difference in sound?

    x2

for anyone who has doubts, go to your local best buy and listen to the TSi500s and compare them to the other TSi models and you will noitice a big difference. Then politely thank the best buy guy and head home and go to newegg.com and order the monitor 70s....the TSi line and monitor line have almost the same sound and performance.

**disclaimer** best buy is not the best place to audition speakers..acoustics suck, but you should still be able to notice the difference.
