SDA 1C interconnect cable question

This is a blade/blade model.

I am trying to see if interconnect cable is working.

I put a multimeter on it and got 000.0 readings for all except from black to red on both speakers, left had 000.4 and right had 000.38.

Not sure if the multimeter was getting into the interconnect plug (didnt fit in) enough to get a reading.

I think there is a difference with and w/out the cable in sound but it is subtle. However there is somewhat of a imaging change which makes me think they are working at some level. My wife said she liked the sound better w/cable, said it sounded clearer (best I could get out of her).

Anyway, I am concerned about the multimeter readings and am wondering about that. I am also wondering if a better (homemade) IC cable would be helpful.

TIA
I got static in my head

The information you are loolking can be found in this forum, there are two interconnect cables for the SDA-1C's
    "pin/blade", and "blade/blade"
"SDA-1C interconnect cable" is your search term.

WHAT RANGE was your multimeter set to? First Guess: You're really looking at 4.0 ohms and 3.8 ohms; but the multimeter was set to "too high" a range. The spec for + (red) to - (black) is "within ten percent of" 3.7 ohms.

Good chance you didn't actually connect with your probe in the "small" blade socket. The larger blade socket is probably not electrically connected to anything inside the cabinet; I'd expect an "open circuit" reading on the ohmmeter anytime you're testing resistance between the larger blade socket and anywhere else.

Working properly, the tonality of the speaker won't change much, but the imaging changes considerably--there is a wider soundstage.

Many folks report good results with an upgraded/heavier SDA interconnect cable. Before you upgrade the cable, you might want to study up on the AI-1 "Dreadnaught"; and on the VERY SIMPLE modification that will allow your speaker to use the Dreadnaught.

If you are trying to determine if the blade socket connections are working you'll need to remove the PR to get inside. Once inside you can check for continuity between them and the crossover board. You'll also want to check the condition of the blade sockets as they are known to fail after so many years of use.
