CS1000P and RT16

Can the CS1000P and RT16 be set to Large, I find when I do this the sound is more fuller and the bass is good but since they are older I don't want to damage them at all. I have a sub set to LFE and when I use small and a 80 crossover I find the sound is not full enough. I normally watch movies with the volume at -18 max on a denon receiver. If they should not be set to large then if anyone has any recommendation on to what crossover frequency I should use for them I would appreciate it.

I have my front speakers which are polk audio cs1000P, and RT 16 set to Large and sub set to LFE, and I have the Polk audio RT7 for surround and just curious what the crossover should be set at for the RT7 or should i set them to large as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The best way to find out is just to play around with the settings until you find out which ones you like best. Bass in particular is very dependent on the size and shape of the room as well as the speaker placement within it. We can't really give you a definitive list of settings that will be guaranteed to work best for you.

I sure would run them that way and hopefully you're running a separate IC from the pre-out on your AVR for the CS1000P sub.

I just bought a CS1000P on ebay tonite for 450. No pic of it as it was just posted. I asked seller for pic to verify that it is what he says it is. I want it to use with my 2.3TL's.

The guy also has a set of rt3000p's that he is keeping for 2-channel music. I told him if he ever wants to sell them to let me know.

I got the pics and the CS1000p apears to be in excellent condition. PayPal's the funds and can't wait to get it.

Congrats on the center! There is one close to me with some FX1000s...maybe I should road trip.

All I can say is take over some 2-channel speakers and he should just trade you if that is his reason for keeping the RT3000p. They rock in HT. I actually prefer the 7Bs I have for 2 channel over them.

QUESTION: - I have an Carver Cinema amp w/405 wpc driving the Polk speakers in my HT. With the CS1000p and the built-in amp for the sub speakers in that center. If I leave the strap on between the subwoofer drivers do I have to have the CS1000p internal amp on (pluged in with volume set) in order for those drivers to work? In other words, I want the Carver Cinema amp to supply the power to all the drivers in the CS1000p?

The CS1000p is awesome! It is an excellent match with my 2.3 TL's. Just a question though: with my 2.3's and 4 Empire subs and my system "small", what setting do I use on tyhe CS sub dial? It has white dots and in order for the bass to be calibrated with the other woofers, I have to dial it in. So just where on the dial do most of you that have the CS have it set? I tried the CS as large and the LFE going to it but it works better with my other subs to set everything as small. I do notice the difference with the center audio though and it is a excellent choice for those that can get ahold of the CS for use with the SDA's.
