A tragic accident...part 2.

It was less than 4 years ago I posted a thread regarding the death of a friend and neighbor.
http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showpost.php?p=642119&postcount=1
Unfortunately history has repeated itself. An old friend from my high school days who also happens to be a neighbor died yesterday in an accident involving his Harley and a car. I could almost just insert his name to the prior post and change the age of the other driver from 19 to 80. All too tragically similar. He was 57.
Please remember Bill's family in your prayers...especially his three boys between the ages of 17 and 23...Cody, Carson and Cameron. He also leaves his parents and two sisters.
It was not malicious on the other driver's part...just a terrible accident. All involved need our prayers.
I grew up "raising hell" with Billy back in the day...we had some good times. Even though we were not as close now...we were still neighbors and my daughters know his sons pretty well as they went to school together.
It is always a bad day when you lose a friend.

57 is far too 'young' to be leaving us these days. Sincerest condolences to you, your friend and--most of all--for his boys and extended family. Losing a parent is rough. Losing a friend (is something) we're all going to have to get used as we age. Sorry for your loss.

Nothing stuns like the sudden loss of a friend and contemporary. One of the three times I've experienced this involved a motorcycle.
I'd tell you to raise one in your friend's honor, but I know you don't drink. So I'll hoist one on his behalf while you spin a couple of his favorite tunes.More later,

I will on occasion have a drink. I certainly had my share in the company of Billy back in the day. I may just have to raise a glass to him for old times sake.
Thanks everyone for all the prayers for the family. The next weeks and months will be very difficult for them. The unexpected finality of something like this is not easy to cope with and overcome.
Tomorrow is the funeral. I have been to too many of these of late. I dread them...but hopefully it helps the family to have others around. I may also get to see a few other old friends from the past.
