Hello all!!,

I need some help.... I have 2 qty 5x200 amps and i have some bi-amping questions
I currently own 2 monitor 70's and 4 monitor 40's and i was wondering if bi-amping these to power the drivers and tweeters separately would be too much.
the amps are Emotiva xpa-5's. the 40's are surround and rear surrounds. i never crank the volume over 20 on my onkyo 3008. Is it too much power?

It's available power to you. If you don't listen at high levels, probably a wash.

200 watts into M70's is more than enough, bi-amping imo, will do next to nothing. Maybe a better choice would be to sell one amp and upgrade the speaks or subwoofer, that would give you some real results in sound quality.

    First, welcome to Club Polk.

On bi-amping... try it and judge for yourself...

As for too much power... given what you have your speakers already owe their continued existance to your common sense restraint. Adding even more power is not going to change that... so proceed worry free.

tony, surprised you didn't tell chubs about my Grandma's goose...

    Thanks for the input people,
my real issue is im getting married in october and then purchasing new home. I will have a theater room at that house, but for time being, I just want to use the amps as much as possible to break them in. I have another pair of 70's still in box and another pair of 40's still in box that will make their way into the mix at the new house. I really appreciate the info guys!
