hey sorry I just now saw that you asked about the yoko's. I didn't really drive on any ice, but I got a little action in an inch or two of snow and with a couple of bags of salt in the trunk, I didn't slide around or have any close calls. I'm a very cautious driver in the snow, though. They also have a pretty good warranty, 45,000 miles I think. I got mine from discount tire direct because they were pretty cheap and had free shipping.

Also, here are a few youtube TireRack Reviews comparing them to some similar tires.

No problem. I ended up with a set of Yokohamas. They seem to grip very nicely dry and wet. Hopefully I'll have to wait until next winter to test out the snow/ice performance.

Continental Extremecontact DWS. I have mainly been a Michelin fan, and still am, but I wanted to try something different (and less expensive). The Continentals are very good in all weather conditions.

Previously I had the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S. It is an excellent tire and even better than the Continental but I wanted to get away from directional treads since my car has a lot of negative camber in the rear that tears up tires and I wanted to be able to cross rotate.
