does it matter which posts I use for banana plugs on TSi 400s?

There's two sets... an upper and a lower. It looks like they're connected anyway, but does it matter which ones I plug my banana plugs into as long as they're both in the top or both in the bottom?

Does one have an advantage over the other?

Thanks!

Either will give the same result.

Greg, the previous reply is correct, but to give you a little more detail why: the connecting strips between the terminals are made of brass, which is an alloy of 60-90% copper plus zinc. The electrical conductivity of brass, on average, is about 1/3rd that of a piece of pure copper of the same size, e.g., a 2" brass strip would have the same resistance as a 6" copper strip of equal cross-section. Brass is used for this because it's considerably stronger than pure copper(a common use in weapons is in cartridge cases)and over the 2-3" length involved, the difference in conductivity is inconsequential, otherwise the manufacturers wouldn't use it.

So yes, you can connect to either set of terminals without appreciable effect and could even connect one to the top and one to the bottom if you wanted to, although there'd be no apparent reason to do so.

What about on RTI A9? Which set to use top or bottom? Hooking up to Onkyo TX-NR808.

Doesn't really matter. I just use the lower ones.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
