Are mine SRS-SDA 1.2s or????

They are the big ones with 8 mids 4 tweeters 15"radiator. The tweeters are SL2000 But have 1987 on the back of them. My inter connect cable has 2 flat's (no pin).I also heard in 87 they upgraded the cabinets is this true??

    They are the SDA SRS, not the 1.2's and not with the upgraded cabinets. Excellent speakers none the less!

    how much do you think they are worth?I have 4 bad tweeters other then that they are mint,I'm the second owner

    The problem with having 4 bad tweets is that the SL2000 is no longer available. Polk does have a replacement, but it's not quite the same, so you'd have to replace all 8. Price? I'll let someone else help you with that one.

    Mint or Near Mint SRS's went for $1900 to 2000 on ebay. Lately price has dropped some. Pair went for ~$1650, but many ebay proces are "off" right now.

    Also a couple pair were on Audiogon an while ago for $1500. Don't know the condidition.

    Since you have that many tweeters to replace, consider upgrading. You'd have to rework the crossovers as well, but there are those around here and at Polk CS that would be happy to help.

    I would heartily recommend Raife's OUTSTANDING booklet, "The SDA Compendium" as THE source for any and everything you could possibly want to know about the various models and versions of SDA speakers. It has a great section on crossover schematics and tweaks and upgrades that may be well worth your while to investigate. I was initially confused about the exact model I had since the serial number simply began with "SDA SRS" and not "SDA SRS 1.2", but Raife verified that early production models of the 1.2's had just the "SDA SRS" serial number desigation. Good luck and another Thanks to Raife for this great source of SDA info!

    I'm guessing you could take the near mint price and subtract about $500. That is what it would cost a polk club member to purchase 8 new sl-2500's which is the replacement. (you would have to do 8 rather than 4 because they all need to be the same one). $1300 is about what I would go. Make your own decision on it though. Persoannly I kinda like my sda-srs a little more than my 1.2's. Seem more lively somehow. Never tried the 1.2tl's.

    Not to pick but i thought the replacement for the SL2000's would be the SL2000T's

    I think max was referring to the fact that only the 2000t are available from polk. the sl2000's you have to scrounge for either on ebay or from nice people on this forum

    Yea, your right. How did I come up with the '2500's ?? Another option of course is to come up with 4 used '2000's, replace them yourself and then sell as mint or near mint. (that is what I would try to do). Of course the used tweeters would really have to be in mint condition. Also, the really picky people would check the dates on the back of the tweeters to be sure they were the originals so if you did not advertise them as being replaced you could run into some feedback problems. Great speakers. I would fix and keep them for a few years until they become even more rare though. Actually, I would just keep them. Good luck in any case!
