After eight months of sheetrock work and everything else in life - I have completely painted my ceiling and mounted a fan on it...

The walls needs to be primed and so forth - but that will not take long at all, maybe a week tops!

    BR is short for bathrooms. That way when you have a herd of drunken people at your house they know which door is the bathroom so they dont do number 1 in your closet.

    Yeah, thats a good looking fan. I'm house-shopping these days, and seeking a fix-me-upper since I don't already have enough things to do & keep me busy.... but can't wait to get my hands dirty with some 'rocking and spackel.

    Thanks for all the comments! I actually missed the replies sorry for not posting sooner!

    It took eight months to do ALOT - in eight months we gutted the whole back of the house (two bedrooms and a hallway) - rebuilt most of it due to termite damage. Not to mention all the other stuff that has been going on while we did it.

    It took eight months to finish everything...

    This is the last room involving sheetrock. Next we are headed under the house to sister all the floor-joist and add some floor jacks to reinforce the kitchen and the main areas of the house. Main reason being the kitchen since we put tile down and need to prevent floor flex...

    After that I am headed to the outside to work on it a bit...

    Pic 1 - Hallway stripped
    Pic 2 - Spare bedroom stripped
    Pic 3 - Master bedroom as of right now
    Pic 4 - Hallway redone mostly
    Pic 5 - Spare Bedroom mostly done (it is actually done I just dont have any pics to show)
    Pic 6 - Master bedroom stripped

    I have not put flooring anywhere except the kitchen to lessen the chance of damage...

    Ill post some pics of each room...

    That's a much better explanation. Initial thought of 8months to do some taping seemed....uh....different. :wink:

    Had Lightman Russ over here today - he got all the outlets working, put an outlet up to mount a TV and installed the in-wall subs...

    Fun. My father-in-law built their entire house, from pouring the slab to putting the roof on. The only thing he did NOT do was tape and float. At the time, it wouldve cost him like $500 less to do it himself, but would've taken him 2-3 weeks to do whereas he could hire some people and get it done in just a matter of days.

    So where are you sleeping while this renovation is going on?

    Paying someone else to do it never crossed my mind as this project is more of an adventure. I love doing this stuff and seeing change... so I would call it a burden of love...

    I sleep on the couch lol... in the den.

    I have a room mate - he sleeps on the futon in the spare bedroom. He is moving out soon for an internship so I will most likely sleep in there until i get my room up and the house done.

    Haha. Well I guess its easy when youre a bachelor, but when you got a wife and 2 kids, youre under more of a deadline...haha.

    Do you have all these pictures in an online album somewhere (photobucket, etc)?
