Vintage Tung SOl 6550 - From Brent Jesse

I have a quad of Tung Sol 6550 I bought used from Brent Jesse. I bought them October 25, 2010 and took them out of service Dec 12, 2010. 1 is Tung Sol labeled and the other 3 are Leslie labeled. Comes in Brent Jesse boxes showing testing and date.

They are matched closely and pass all test on my Mighty Might tubes checker.

I am also adding the spare I got off ebay that is GE labeled and was supposedly NOS. Will include orignal box for it. Have had it in service and it is as quiet as the others and sounds as good.


Here is a cut and paste from Brent's site on these tubes. 6550, Tung Sol blemished base, squat "coke bottle" shape, 3 getters, 3 holes in greyplate, nickel collar around brownbase MATCHED PAIR
Used tested good, white box. Blemished bases but tubes test good and are guaranteed. MORE STOCK JUST IN!! This is the classic against which all other 6550 tubes are compared. These are the real deal Tung Sol tubes, made for RCA and Leslie. Getter flash spots are good on all. All test at or near NOS, passed the life test with flying colors as well. These have plenty of life left, and would make a great spare pair. SINGLE TUBES ARE $60.00. These all carry our same warranty as our NOS tubes. Try the famous Tung Sol sound at a huge savings!

    I suppose that folks here know that the Tungsol 6550 is one of the best 6550's ever made.They usually sell for 250/pr.The ones pictured appear to be late 60's/early 70's.These have a great low end,,and the mids are just sweetness.Good luck with the sale.
