DC Amplifiers

I have a Mitsubishi Mitsubishi DA-A10DC amp and could not be happier however I want a second amp to use for another set of speakers and found a Mitsubishi DA-A15 amp that is a couple of years older and a bit more powerful which is fine ,
but it lacks the DC designation but I looked at the specs and although the thd is slightly higher would it be that different?
anyone with more understanding of the DC circuits than I please chime in .
I thought all amps had to be converted from ac to dc via the power supply.

I am sure someone brilliant on this forum will set me straight,thanks in advance..........

Not really sure what the significant of the DC word in DA-A10DC but I am thinking it's meant DC as Direct Coupling. It meant the signal paths has no capacitors in it which could degrade sound. But it comes at a cost. If the preamp fails and sends out DC (direct current) to the the amp, then, the DA-A10DC will amplify that small DC and pass it on to the speakers. It could damage the speaker depending on the amount of DC.

Since the DC word is dropped in the DA-A15, it may have both Direct Coupling and Capacitor Coupling inputs but I am not sure about it. Do you see two sets of RCA inputs behind the DA-A15?

But I am pretty sure they both are use Direct Current (DC) amplifier regardless of what the DC really means behind DA-A10DC.

as far as differences the only thing different is no power switch on the front of the DA-A15

if it is near the sound quality of my other Mitsubishi amp then I will be happy with it ,I chose the Mitsu gear over my Pioneer spec gear when I decided to keep only one set of separates.
the sound quality is great and power rating is very underrated and it will drive the most difficult speakers

Yes, sound quality should be about the same except the fact the DA-A15DC has more power than the DA-A10DC.

While I think it's reasonably able to drive low impedance speaker load, it's not made to drive constant 2 ohms or lower impedance load. But I think the sound quality would be pretty good for most speakers load.
