A supermoon is a new or full moon that happens to coincide with a close approach of the moon to the earth. The full moon will be the closest it has been to Earth in 18 years. The distance between the Earth and the moon during the event will be about 221,567 miles, as compared to the average distance of 238,000 miles.

A little underwhelming here, but a nice full moon nonetheless.

It's quite hazy out right now due to an approaching storm and the moon is very low, about 15 degrees above the horizon. Hopefully as it rises it'll break through some of the clouds for a better look.

Cloudy here too, bummer. Wonder what this does to those high tide areas, if anything. You would think so anyway.

No change in color, but the craters had better depth, and around the perimeter the fact that the moon is not perfectly flat became more apparent.

The huge crater at about the 8:30-8:45PM position on the perimeter was spectacular. Must have been a good one back whenever.
