Hi All; I have a 6510 driver that was not working in my 2.3TL's. In fact the only way I could tell it was not working was to use an SPL meter from the ratshack. After it was removed I noticed that one of the braided lead wires was not attached to the cone. In fact, it looks as if it was never attached. Is there any fix for this or am I sol. Thanks

I believe they are simply glued in place. Look at how the good one is attached, then attach the loose one on the opposite side the same way.
BTW, don't tell poor stuwee that I helped you, it might be more than he can handle.Political Correctness'.........defined

I talked with Polk Service and they informed that if the wire could be soldered back on it would not stay on for long. Their suggestion was to just replace the driver.

So you have nothing to lose "RIGHT?" -

Right! Soldered it back on and it is working. Have to see for how long though. Was a difficult fix. Had to put a lump of solder on the braided wire and hold it carefully in place and a quick touch of the iron and was done. Did a light pull check and it was stuck on well. Nothing lost by trying! Thanks All!!! -
I did this to an old B52 Subwoofer I had back in the day. It worked fine afterward for a couple years. I still have the sub in the basement somewhere. I know it still worked when I went a different way with that cars stereo.

Keep a lookout for Vintage 6510 drivers and buy them as soon as you find them so that you'll have some in stock. I hate mixing up the new replacement drivers with the vintage ones. they don't look the same.

No. The 6510 and 6511 have different ohm's ratings and are different in sound. -
