Ran 3 miles in the am.
30 min on the elliptical in the pm. -
1/2 P90x Shoulders & Arms in am.
60min cycling in pm. There's a hill I like to fly down at 25mph but got intercepted by a fat squirrel today who almost stuck his head in my front spoke which would have been disasterous. "Here lies fat killed by a fat squirrel". -
Ran 3 miles after work then ran out the door for margaritas and Mexican food.
-
2.4 Miles in 35 minutes on the streetstrider.
Sal,
Go to connect.garmin.com and sign up for your free account. You can upload your data straight from the watch to the site and it is WAY better than the crappy software they give you to load on your computer. (I still load to my computer as well just so I have a backup copy of my workouts)
Anyway - connect.garmin.com - Check it out.

Thanks Michael,
I was feeling a little let down with the software. I want something more high tech.
I was also having a lot of problems today keeping my heart rate connected with the strap. Where do you place the straps and how do you make sure it has a good connection?
Maybe i just need new batteries?
Thanks again,
Sal
Connect.garmin.com is really nice. You will like it. (I was also really dissapointed in the software that came with the watch)
For your HR - the strap goes around your chest, right below your pecs. (on a girl, the bottom of her bra would lay on top of the strap)
To make better contact, lick your fingers, then wipe them on each side of the HR strap under the sensors (on each side of the part that says garmin) You can also just lick the strap, but that is a little to much dedication for me.... once you start sweating, that will take care of the contact - saliva just helps while you are waiting for the sweat to start.

Go into your garmin and set the auto-lap feature to lap every mile. (you can change it later) It is really helpful to see how your workout goes or how much you speed up/slow down as the workout progresses...Mains.............Polk LSi15 (Cherry)

ROTFLMAO
Saliva works better than water. If you splash water on from the sink, it'll just dry up and you'll lose connection unless you're sweaty already. -
Ran 5 miles this morning.

Saturday did a 5-6 hour ride around the Tel Aviv-Yaffo area. Rode up the coast for a long way, then turned around and came back. Rode around Yaffo, including Old Yaffo for awhile, then rode back into Tel Aviv and rode around there for awhile. No idea how far since I've got no 3G connectivity here, and that jacks with my iphone's battery life something fierce. Only get about 5-6 hours out of a full charge, so I didn't fire up map my ride or anything. I did look up everywhere I went on google maps, and a rough guestimate is 30-40 miles total riding and walking. Unfortunately, that was my first, and will probably be the only real ride I get in while I'm here.
I think this will take you to the album.

What benefits does the StreetStrider offer over jogging/running? Not that I can't even remotely afford the SS lol. But it looks interesting.Display: Sony 42" LCD

7.64 miles Today 1188 Calories
I'm duly impressed Sal. Great job there! That's a lot of calories for one day! I should be hitting something like that for about a week...been getting a little lazy and a bit of spring fever...lackadaisical, in fact. Only one trip to the gym this week.

That's awesome. Looks like you're recovering nicely. Did you ship your bike to Israel or did you rent one? Thx for the pics! -
Renting. And a mountain bike at that. Never did get used to the squirmy feel of the front end. Tires have giant lugs on them, which would probably be great for mud and loose-ish dirt, but sucks on pavement. The little bit of off road I did was fun though. There's a park I was told about that's about 5 miles from where I'm staying. Not much chance I'll make it over there for a ride though.Turntable: Empire 208

Looks nice Sal.
You guys are killing me..I think I ate that many calories for 'lunch' today, which means I have to cool it for dinner!
Fatchowmein is booking. Where do you get the time to run in the morning and still bike 2 hrs at night. Definitely heart attack territory for me if done daily? lol

Midlife Crisis or that's what my cousin tells me I have. Started last year, rough year, and I was bored with my life. Restarted P90x in November 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Did what I could when I could. Life got in the way but I no longer worried about it. If I missed a day so what?
Roll in the new year and I'm still restless. Been itching to run for years. Last attempt in 2004 failed miserably after 1 mile with cramped shins, side stitch, and knee problems. Couldn't walk right for a week. Got tired of that memory and went and bought new shoes, ran out the door, and felt blissful for the first time in years.
Months of P90x helped create a base fitness level and I started to wonder what else I could do and I began to reprioritize my life. Went for a physical. Went to get new glasses and contacts. Went and bought fitness clothing. Got the bikes to the shop for tuneups. Turned off the TV, Xbox, stereo, and computer. Got an iPhone and loaded it up with fitness apps and calorie counter (thank you Lose It!). Got my clothes ready for the next day. Set the alarm for 5:30AM and ran out the door. Got home from work and ran out the door. Why? Because I was no longer working out or getting in shape or dieting or losing weight. I am PLAYING!
I run to silence the voices in my head. I cycle for the adrenaline rush. I run because it makes the stars realign and turns my world right side up. I cycle because for those moments I'm in my happy place and I'm 10 years old again.

I will slow down but for now I'm training for a long bike ride in June and a 5K in July.

I understand completely, but my 50 something joints won't allow what you're doing. While I still have most of my strength and could build up my endurance, my back REALLY dislikes 'running' and even some forms of cycling stiffen me up to the point where I have to lay off a day or two so I can walk normally again. I can't pull that 'mind over matter' stuff anymore...because I am one stiff dude probably on this side of future arthritis?
All the more power to you if you can will yourself to do all that. I 'remember' what that was like. But the 'elasticity' isn't there anymore. Another 10 years and I'll probably be two inches shorter? lol Gravity WINS in the end!
Looks like you're having fun!

Fatchowmein, it sounds like you're really working your butt off. I'm glad to see you adding resistance training to your workout.
