I received the Arcam today and it's a nice looking preamp. I've put it into action and with the first CD I'll say the sound stage is definitely wider than it ever was with the Cambridge. I don't know how much better a tube pre can sound because this is very nice.

This is a great tube pre-amp if you are looking for something w/basic connections. It becomes even better when replacing the stock tubes with nicer ones. I own one and am simply amazed with good tubes how it sounds.

Just another one for you to consider if you really want to try tubes and it won't break the bank and sounds excellent.

The audiogon seller Joe Zhou is a great guy to deal with and these are shipped out of Naperville, IL right here in the states. He is the US distributor for Dared so you can feel confident about buying from him and getting support after the sale.

    H,
That thang sure is pretty. Might have to try and look for one for a test drive. Cheers.

Tony, I thought this would just be passing through. It has stayed and I don't see it going anywhere. Plus, I have bought a LOT of tubes to roll for it.

What amp do you have paired with it ?
I'd be tempted to buy but the gear bill has been a little high and needs some time to settle if you know what I am saying. I am going to add this to my wish list. Do you have contact info for Joe or does he just sell thru Audiogon ?

My amp is a Pass Labs Aleph 30.

You can contact Joe through the Dared US website.

It appears they are on vacation until Apr 2. I have emailed him before with questions and he responds within 24-48 hours.
