Silver is a better contact, but if the connector is solid silver they tend to be weak.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

What's under the plating is more important.

Keep it simple, gold plated copper.

Whereas silver is a better conductor, it's conductivity is only slightly better than copper. But besides the expense, it is a soft metal the connectors would be weak. And it has a tendency to tarnish and oxidize.

Solid OFC copper is a stronger connector with great conductance. But it, too, has a tendancy to oxidize.

Gold plated copper is the better choice. The copper offers great conductance and gold plating doesn't oxidize.

Silver oxide is still a better conductor than gold, or even copper. So my preference is silver over pure copper.

As far as differences, some claim gold has a warmer sound.

I prefer silver over copper for my speaker cable terminations, and silver over low conductivity brass for RCAs.
