Does anybody here own one too? If, so I have some setup and MCACC questions.
Just got it and I like it so far. My old Monitor 10's have redeemed themselves. Apparently it was my old Yamaha receiver that made them sound cold and harsh.

If you are still around, I would like to hear your impressions on the receiver 6 months later.
I just received mine and indeed the difference in my Montir 10A's is remarkable. And like you, it replaced a older model Yamaha (20 years old).
However, I am scratching my head on setup though. I went from 8 speaker inputs and little else on the Yamaha, to a hundred inputs of numerous types. I can't figure out where to begin (other than the front speakers and the TV audio).

What are your MCACC questions, as you can see by my reciever I have it too. If I can't help you maybe jd45177 can.Panasonic VIERA 46" 1080p plasma

I think I got the MCAAC thing figured out. The 912 is really a 6.1 receiver, not 7.1, so I believe that's why both rear channels are not tested individually. Anybody else find the same?
I have other 912 issues to deal with, but this is a fairly complex piece of equipment so I have to sit down with the manual and go through the set up again.
For example I didn't realize that the audio compression level is set to Max from the factory, but the manual doesn't really explain what results to expect from setting it differently. I'm going to try medium for a while. I THOUGHT the audio sounded very compressed and that setting confirmed it.
Basically my only complaint about the receiver is that the manual tells you how to change all the settings, but doesn't really explain the results of the changed settings.
The Dolby displays on the front panel no longer operate, so I have to check that out. My DVD player has Dolby, so I believe that's why. I need to go through the Panasonic RP-91 setup again with the 912 manual along side.
When playing a 5.1 DVD the subwoofers won't turn on automatically. If I switch them from Auto to On and then back to Auto, the the green LED on the subwoofers come on. I need to check this out more. Maybe they only turn on at the moment they detect an input signal from the 912 subwoofer Out, but that would seem strange. Normally I would think an amplifier needs a bit of time to power up and stabilize before feeding it a signal.
MCAAC detects and calibrates the subwoofers without a problem.
I also switched my RTi28 speakers to the middle left/right surround channels and put the R15's in the back. There is no 7.1 material, so the R15's really never get used unless you use the simulated surround features, which the 912 only lets you do in some modes when moon and the planets are aligned correctly.
This wouldn't be a good hobby if it didn't have challenges for learning new stuff.SVS PB10 ISD . Pioneer VSX-1015K
