Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

This Gas Shortage problem in Arizona is the biggest crock of ****. As of this morning, 65% of the stations in Phoenix have ZERO gas, and the Pipeline that broke down in Tucson is apparently fixed, but now we're waiting a few weeks on some federal inspections to turn it back on.
If you need gas, you have to wait in line anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. When a station gets their fill of gas from a tanker, what would normally last the station a week, is gone within hours. We have to drive around and hunt for a station that actually has gas, and pray that by the time it's your turn to get gas, they dont run out.
I paid $2.40/gallon the other day, but it has since seemingly gone up from there, to as high as $4.39/gallon for Premium, which is often all they have. We're forced to pay whatever the price is, as AZ doesn't have any anti-gouging laws......yet.
With regard to the linked auction, no way in hell am I going to let someone just take my car and hope they come back........that's insane.......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
I work in the O&G business and am familiar with the crude oil market and how we sell oil by bulk volume. Many times, its through contracts that predict what the value of the barrel of oil will be in the next 4 months and thus the pricing is set on that. I've yet to understand how a 12-24 hour blackout in the north east which may have affected a handful of refineries, can cause all the local gas stations to charge an extra 10¢ per gallon when a majority of the gasoline that is used in this country is produced right here in the deep south......
Someone is making money somewhere....
As for the federal government holding up the inspection of the repaired gasoline line, it's just part of normal business. The Department of Transportation has many checks that need to be verified when they recommission the line, mainly hydrotesting (or other form of pressure testing) can take days sometimes due to the shear length of these pipelines. It's hard to hold pressure on a line at usually 1.5 times greater than the design pressure of the pipeline for a few hours.Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now.... -
I've got gas pressure too, not sure it needs testing, it seems to vent itself at random.If...

Ah...but is it at the right setting....you'll have to stick a gauge on it to figure out if it's right.Damn....8 lines...I've gotta put my sig on a diet now.... -
The East pipeline that comes into the Phoenix area through Tucsonhas been broken for just under a month now. They did a pressure test just yesterday and it failed. Our Govenor just had a Press Conference where she indicated that the EPA has just released a waiver for 180k barrels regular and 30k barrels premium out of some of the neighboring states.
We had 55% of the stations totally out of gas late last week and she (Gov. Napolitano) indicated that it wasn't a crisis which HUGELY pissed people off. They indicate the recent numbers to be that only 35% of the stations currently don't have gas.
The two options that Kinder Morgan (owners of the pipe) has are to replace 4 miles of pipe in which the test failed, or to bypass that line and use what is currently being used for Jet Fuel to bring approximately 35k gallons into the valley by Sunday Evening.
To make matters worse, a truck loaded with dirt took out the West Pipeline in San Bernadino feeding into the state, potentially making our scenario even worse. ETA on getting the West Pipeline fixed is this evening, and she said that wouldn't affect the current situation with the stations, as the gas coming through that line wouldn't have even arrived into the valley until 8/24.
Kinder Morgan is providing documentation to the Governor's Office lof how much they're delivering to the valley to determine who's to blame for the gas not getting from the tanks to the stations. That information to be to the Gov's office by tomorrow morning.
All things considered, I'm workin every other day and if my employer doesn't like it, then they can eat me. One thing that I will probably be doing is driving 45 miles south to Casa Grande to get gas since they apparently don't have the gas problems that we are up here in Phoenix. It's all a pain in the ****, but bottom line, you have to get gas, and I'm not devoting hours to waiting in line to get it. Even if I'm spending the same amount of time considering the drive south, I'm only going to be paying $1.70ish vs. the $3+ that they're charging now.......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -

It is a lot more than 65% of stations that don't have gas. Numbers I have read and observe show closer to 1 in 8 stations have gas. ( Here is a running list of Scottsdale stations http://www.hotlinkcity.com/gas/ )
Also, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they leak tested the pipeline last night/this morning, and it failed. (Look at the front page of www.azcentral.com ) -
Well thanks to their predicament, gas prices here in San Diego County just rose 22 cents per gallon in one day. I filled up with premium yesterday for $1.99, today when I filled up the wifes car it was $2.21....$2.01 for 87 unleaded.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. I had no idea any of this was going on. Can you tell I get my news from SportsCenter?
