Agreed. I did some research and found out the same thing.
I bought them from Nobetterdeal.com and am getting them shipped to CBIUSA and am in USA on the weekend so will pick them up and happily pay taxes/duties on them.
I was looking for another set of LSis for a while... at this price new was a no brainer. -

The Monitor 70's are tempting. Questions is, how damaged is the box? A little rip or beat to snot such that there's no way they'd make it to my house without speaker damage? Not sure I want to deal with the potential hassle since these would just be speakers to toy around with anyway.

My speakers were brand new and in perfect condition when I got them. I'm very happy w/them... and I can say they sound better than the old ones (after a couple weeks of breaking in)
I sold my other set (which were 8 years old --- i bought second hand a couple months ago)
