The Great Indoors is closing out their Sennheiser line. You (like I) can pick up a pair of HD-590's for around $97. Call the one in Irvine, CA. Last I talked to them, they had many pairs to sell. Add in $9 for shipping and tax. I think its a good deal, since they retail for well over double that.

GG - I have a pair of Sennheiser HD590's that I picked up at a great price brand new. I don't need another pair of headphones, and you can have them at cost, $100 shipped. I bought them because I can't pass up a good deal. They have been opened and have about 30 minutes of listening time on them, by me. No sweating by me, velour cups and they feel real good on your noggin'...I would say head, but there are perverts around. :)

It is an open air design, so the bass isn't what you get with a closed design. They sound real good. I wouldnt call them a Rap/HipHop headphone...they are a strong midrange type headphone. Vocals are clean and pronounced. A headphone amplifier would really develop these cans, and increase their performance.

www.headphone.com is a great link, for some reason the 590 is not listed...I dont know why.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I have the Sennheiser 590's as well and they are great. They are even better with Stafan Audio Art's Equinox cables...much better than whimpy stock cord. Bass response inproved as well as imaging and clarity.

If you don't want to go Sennheiser, get the Grado SR125 or if you can swing it (just a tad under $200), the SR225's. Both have great reviews and can be be driven with portables as well as Hi-Fi gear.

    Hope this helps...
