Carver PM 200 amp

All I can find on this is it's old and 100W @ 8 ohms, 150 @ 4. I'm needing a fairly cheap high current amp to drive my SDA 2B's just to show the Mrs. that we need a power amp and then maybe she'll spring for a more current and higher power amp.
Anybody know anything about these old amps by Carver...are they indeed "high current", are they common ground and do you think the Mrs. will be impressed enough to open up the purse for something better(like a TFM 45)?

The PM series amps are Carvers pro line. Built like tanks, but not quite as "musical" as the amps for the home market. I'm not sure if they are common ground or not. They are high current amps though. A better choice IMO would be an M-500t, TFM 45 or TFM 55. They will all be about twice the price of a PM series amp though. A large percentage of PM series amps have lots of scratches and dings too, a result of being used in road set-ups.

I think I've read where pro lines are usually "noisy" due to fans? I would much rather the TFM's but this amp is really cheap at the bay now.Yep, my name really is Bob.

From what I have heard from the PM & PT amps I have listen to are very very neutral sounding amps. Not bad, but will make you music or source input you main flavoring of the music. Your speakers will sound very natural.engtaz
I love how music can brighten up a bad day. -
No fan in the PM-200. Here are a couple of pics of the PM-300 I used to have that will show the road rash that is usually present on the PM amps:

Note that there are no RCA inputs on the PM series amps. -
I realize that this is an old thread, but I have one of these amplifiers available for sale.
The amp works just fine, but has some minor scratches on it.
