Hi, I was wondering if I could replace my MM tweeter with some Vifa tweeter?. Here's a link of the vifa tweeter: http://cgi.ebay.com/Vifa-Tweeter-XT25SC90-04-PAIR-2-tweeters-/250749488791?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item3a61d58e97#ht_500wt_1156

I doubt it. Are you using active or passive crossovers with your MM speakers?

The crossover points will not be correct. Are your tweeters bad?

Swap that tweeter with the good one and see if it works then. After you do that check back in with us.

In addition to x-over points impendace on both tweeters is different, will not work with MM's x-over

That tweeter will work fine. It's a better tweet than the MM. It plays flatter and lower than the MM so the crossover point wont be an issue. Output level may be different tho so you may have to tinker with the attenuation some. If you ever decide to biamp your system this will be a lot easier.

Couple things tho. Ring radiators are very directional so you're gonna need to be able to mount these more on axis.

Second, I'd recommend getting them from Madisound instead. No telling what you're getting off eBay.

Not that much. The output may be different but that can be overcome fairly easy especially if he ever biamps. The difference between 3 and 4 ohm is gonna be pretty hard to hear anyway. I can barely tell the difference between a 4 ohm and 8 ohm tweeter.

Don't know if Mac's tried it or not but it will work, no issues. Like already said the ring radiators are much better than the soft domes that come with the MM's. Also keep both tweets on axis like Mac said. Hook it up and let us know what you think.

I haven't tried this particular setup but I have tried different tweeters with passive crossovers. All the crossover is doing is cutting the tweeters off at a certain frequency. Not a whole lot else going on really at least as far as I know anyway.
