PSW111 best surface

What is the best surface for my PSW111 to sit on, for the best performance...
I have it on carpet currently, but I wonder if it would perform better on a hard surface...

    I think the surface is more of an issue with a down firing sub. Any hard wood or tile will produce a louder sound.
