Monitor 10b SDA conversion?

I was looking at the wiring diagram for the monitor 10s with anticipation of doing the xover upgrades. I decided to look at the SDA CRS+ 1986 Sch.pdf. To my untrained eye it seems like there is not a huge difference between the wiring for the monitor 10 and the SDA CRS+.
Has anyone tried to modify a pair if monitor 10s give them perform like SDAs? Are the xovers similar enough that they would work as SDAs by just replacing and adding some new components and doing some rewiring? Seems like it would be an interesting and worthwhile modification.

Not only are the crossovers different as you would guess, but the drivers are probably different as well.
The Monitor 10b is a unique Polk speaker that is fairly popular and not as common as the 7 or 5, so my guess is that you could sell your 10b and by a proper SDA 2A for about the same money; but I know that's not as much fun. -
10B's are just as popular (probably even moreso) as the 7's and 5's. If anything the 7's were probably the least popular in their day. But again, probably splitting hairs. With the 5B's being the most popular.
And no you can't modify the 10B to make it an SDA. For one, the driver spacing is all wrong.......for two, see number one as nothing else matters if the spacing is not correct.

Now that we know the hierarchy of the popularity of the different vintage monitor speakers. Could someone please comment on the differences between the monitor 10 crossovers and the SDA CRS+ and the possibilities of modifying them to make SDAs out of a pair of monitor 10s? Seems like a legitimate question for someone to ask who likes the monitor 10s and likes the idea of having them sound like SDAs.
See my edit in post #3..........the driver spacing is not correct so it's moot.

Thanks
No problem.
Driver spacing is a very critical part of SDA's. If it is off, the SDA portion is greatly reduced. In the end all the work involved with sourcing x-overs, etc wouldn't give you the best result. Would it work? Probably to some degree but the effort involved wouldn't be worth it.
If you want CRS's look for a used pair.

Tennman, if this were a mod we could perform I am sure we would have a sticky for it by now, and a build thread or thirty.
