I am looking to buy an HT System which I also want to use to play music 50% of the time.My HT will be in a finished basement where the basement is 15ft wide by 28 ft long but the HT area is only about 15ft X 15ft.
I am going to buy an HK AVR3600 Receiver.
I have decided to buy Polk speakers but now am debating on what models.I want to have towers for the front and have been debating what model to get.I looking at the following(I live in Toronto , Canada):
RTI10-Can get a pair at FS for $571 including tax.
TSI400 - Can get a pair for $435 including tax
TSI500 - Can get a pair for $700 including tax

I was going to combine one of these with a CSIA4 centre and a pair of RC60I in ceiling surrounds.

Any thoughts on my choices and the value for the price points????

I would say to go with the RTI10's. They are a higher quality speaker than the TSI series. The RTI series has better quality drivers and crossovers. It is also a better match for CSiA4 center you mentioned.

Another option is to look at the monitor series. They are basically the same as the TSI just an older version. You can get a good deal at newegg for them. Not sure about shipping to Canada though
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

I would also go with the RTi10's which are comparable to the RTiA7's. I would however go with the Polk CSiA6 center since you will save money on the Towers. Another consideration for surrounds would be the Rti4's ( Comparable to the RTiA1's ) which F/S has on sale for $149 PAIR. This setup will give you a lot of Bang for the Buck. I have these above speakers for my H/T and they sound excellent together. The RTi10's and the RTi4's are the best deal F/S has going right now.

There actually $149 each in my area.I was going with the in ceiling speaker because one side of my HT area has the furnace duct and there's really no where to place a surround speaker.

Thanks for all the responses. It's been very helpful.
I've decided to get the RTI10's and was wondering if anybody had any suggestions concerning best centre speaker match and also the best in ceiling surround speaker.

CSI A6 or 5 for the center..bigger is better for the center,also..have you bought the HK AVR3600 yet? if not, look into something with more power, the Rti10 sound ALOT better with alot of power..

For a matching center,go for the CSi5 or CSiA6.Pretty much the same speaker, but the Csi5 will cosmetically match the RTi10's.

No..I hav'nt bought it yet.I've read a lot of conflicting statements concerning high current receivers and the fact that although HK power ratings are lower than other manufacturers their power is actually greater.

The place I am going to buy it from also sells Onkyo receivers but I never looked closely at them.

    Any recommendations??

The store where I would like to buy it since they have the best prices sells HK,Onkyo and Pioneer.I hav'nt asked them any of the prices for the Pioneer elite AVR's but I know if the MRSP is $2199 it must be around $1600-$1700 at least.
I can get the HK 3600 for just over $800.

This store is a small electronics store and although they have a website they only display things they have on special and not their full product offering.Currently the only thing it shows is camera's that are on sale.

I use the RTi10's and CSiA6 in my main H/T...RTi4's for surrounds. I first powered them with a Denon AVR-888 which sounded very good ( But had no Preouts to add an amp ). I am preparing a second H/T room downstairs, so decided to use the Denon there . I purchased a Pioneer Elite SC-35 New from E-bay ( I live in Canada ) for just over $1200 Total which I now use upstairs, rather than a cheaper AVR with preouts . Seriously,It sounds fantastic and I don't plan to add an amp to my setup any time soon. So if you get one of these Ice Amps you will likely be satisified also. I still don't use all the power its capable of. I know many others say an Amp would be better.....so who knows.....I may add one down the road just to find out......but for an AVR only setup, these Pioneer Sc Models are Very Good. I also seriously considered the H/K 3600 with the thought of adding an Amp at a later date but the combined cost whould have been a lot more than the Pioneer SC-35. I could have purchased the H/K 3600 from Wishabe for $688 in Canada. Just set a price alert on their site for the price you like.

Thanks Larry. The SC-35 would have as much power as I would need.I had a look at the Wisabi site.I never realized it was Canadian. Thanks for the Info.

I'm leery about buying those used electronics even though they say its new.
I went to the store today and found out they don't carry pioneer anymore.
Here is what I was offered all including tax:
    HK 3600 -$800
    CSI A6 -$350
    RC60I Pair - $240
    JBL ES150P - $320

You think this a good deal in Canada??
