hey just got a new amp to push my rti a9s!!!! Rotel RB 1090..... hooray beer. anyways been messing around with my pio 1190 receiver trying to get my setup just right for 2 channel. i mainly run it in surround so i had a few questions
1. without using my sub, what should i set my speakers too? large or small
2. also what should i set my crossover too. it gives me the option for 50, 80, 100, 150, 200. i want to hear everything from just the a9s. good bass and all.
just curious on how some of you have yours set up. any help greatly appreciated fellow polksters

If you don't want to have the sub on - you'd set your fronts to large.
What AVR do you have again?

I'm not familiar with that Pioneer - but if you are talking 2-channel only - then no - there would be no crossover setting on the avr to set.
If your Pioneer lets you save multiple settings you could save different settings:
1) Multichannel with sub: fronts, center, and surrounds = small, Bass/LFE=Sub, Xover=80Hz
Enjoy the movie and all that dangerous scary LFE stuff just going to the sub.
2) 2-channel and no sub: fronts=large, center=no, surrounds=no, sub=no
Enjoy the music and don't worry about dangerous scary bass from music.
