You could always get a right angle rca adaptor, or rotate the sub so the back panel connectors are not on the bottom.
I say go for it and tell us what you think!

I have done it with tile floor liked it better downfiring sounded better on the lower frequinces, but I didnt play with placing much with front firing. Sub seemed weeker front firing found myself turning the volume up more on the sub and yes had to use a right angle cableTV: Philips 42" LCD 1080p
