Technically thats called 6.1 and no you wouldnt want to use both RCA's for it because you would get no benefit since you would be attempting to produce one side of sound with your tweeter and the other with your woofer....

I can't see why it would damage it... there's still a crossover in the speaker to protect the tweeters from receiving bass.
You can set your receiver for one back surround. Don't try to bi-amp it off of both channels, because, like EndersShadow said, you'll get one side out of the tweeter and the rest out of the woofer. Setting it up for one back surround will combine the information all into the one channel.- Computer Rig -
