Q on position of sub: should I put sub facing the wall?

Hi,

I recently purchased PSW505 sub. I hear [elsewhere] people suggesting to put subwoofer facing the wall to make it sound better. Is this true?

Does it make difference whether you put sub facing the wall or other way around? Has anyone experimented with these settings and if so, I would appreciate if you could share your findings or have any feedback to offer.

Thanks.

Try it out and listen and decide which way sounds better to you. We don't have access to your ears to tell you which way sounds better ;)

:-) On serious note, I was just wondering if experts here have their own opinion on how sub should be positioned (facing the wall or not, in general) for sub to sound better. I agree that it's all relative, depends on room acoustics, etc. all jazzy stuff.

Wont consider myself an expert, but as stated by Lasareath above try and see. Bass is uni-directional so it shouldnt matter I would think, however your layout and room accoustics play a role in how it sounds, and since your layout is unique its up to you to figure it out.

It will take what all of 5 mins to demo a couple songs both ways.....
