I'm not a big fan of Costner's films, but I checked out this one yesterday and thought it was pretty good. I thought it moved a bit slow at times (but this did allow for good story development), and Annette Bening's role seemed a little phoney, but other than that, not bad IMO. If you get into westerns, highly recommended.

I saw it, and I thought it stunk. It had the makings to be a good film, but it never panned out. It was like a bad cross between Unforgiven & Tombstone. It ended up turning into a love story, and then it had the long drawn out build up to the 'gunfight' which could have been done much earlier in the film.
I'm critical of Westerns in general, because I have yet to see something original from them lately. If you're going to steal every Western cliche at least do your best.
I am a Western fan.
This just didn't cut it for me.
Hopefully I'm wrong here and the rest of you will love it. -
Well, they could have done w/o the love story altogether, but hey, it's just one of the things Hollywood does to get the ladies into the theater too.
Oh, and you're not wrong by any means, just of a different opinion.Mains: polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired)

Some people may indeed enjoy it, as you have. I hope that I'm the minority. -
Have you ever heard of the **** word called SPOILERS!!!!
Jesus christ I would like to figure it out on my own with out hearing all of the little details on why you did not like it. **** just tell me the god damn ending now and I will save myself 8 dollars. -
What details fool?
Lovestory? Gunfight?
Oooh, sorry I ruined all the suspense.
Did you ever ask yourself if thats all the movie had to offer you'd be better off not going? -
LMAO... Gunfight at the Polk Audio Corral

avelanchefan, I have to agree with Demiurge on this one. I honestly believe that neither one of us provided any spoiler information. I mean, regarding the love interest, you could pretty much see that one a thousand miles away from the trailer, and we never provided any details about it. But, apologies if it took a bit of the fun out of it for you - it was unintended.Mains: polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired)

Those are the details....I did not want to know about.
Did not want to know about the gunfight or the love story.....if you want to talk about it put spoilers ahead of it. Its called common courtesy....something I find that you are lacking in Demiurge on a growing daily basis.
Wanna call me a fool fine but quite being the neighborhood **** around here. -
ALL - Perhaps as a cautionary measure, all threads with headers of movies, not on DVD, should have the "Spoiler" addition. I personally will wait for DVD, but that means nothing.
Would the addition of spoiler to your new movie thread, just in case, work for you guys. That sound like a easy plan?
I mean that for all of us, not just K and Dem...and I am not faulting you two gentlemen, it just created a topic.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

Those aren't details, sorry man. You can gather all that from the trailer as KBerg said. Get your **** out the sling.
You want common courtesy? Did you look at your 1st reply to this thread? Treat people with respect and you'll get it back. Maybe if you'd like to point out where I have a general respect issue with the board and I'll be glad to address that problem at that time.
As I said, don't want to be called a fool.... Don't come here swearing and acting like a disrespectful fool. Nobody gave any details. GET OVER IT! -
I just can't think of too many westerns w/o some form of love interest and a gunfight, so I felt my post was about as much of a spoiler about the movie as me saying...

Nope - just the DD. Sounds like I should have waited for the later version, but didn't know about it way back when.Mains: polkaudio RTi70's (bi-wired)
