Pretty amazing 3D sound from your laptop speakers. There are three
small parts in this video that demonstrate the effect. Granted, the
samples are very simple, but still pretty cool.

Sounds to me the same as SDA technology and/or Sonic Holography. He says that previous attempts have colored the sound to the extent that instruments sound "off" or distorted. His exact words were hard to make out, but I think he said "colored the sound to the extent that a piano doesn't sound like a piano", or something to that effect. I think you would find many on here that would disagree with that assessment.
Any opinions on whether what he is talking about is any different than the technologies that Polkies are already familiar with?"Don't forget to change your politician. They are like diapers they need to be changed regularly, and for the same reason." -
SDA is passive technology designed into the speakers where as Sonic Holography (and many others) is an active technology that is designed into the electronics. Many of the technologies have similar principles, but are executed in very different ways, with the Stereo Dimensional Array technology being very unique.

yes i was in disagreement with his assessment. With the Sonic Holography which i have in my C16 pre-amp I have tried to use and moved my speakers all over my room for me all it does is move the voices to behind the music I get no movement of instruments and sounds(expansion) like my SDA's. But i must say that the fly did move around my head on my computer speakers.
I was also wondering of any patent infringements that may be in effect. Is it really any different than what there're trying to do with the sound bar technology? -
Here's a thread about an in-home demo from another board: http://audioaficionado.org/digital-music-servers/7153-3-d-audio-home-demo.html"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster.
