I saw this on CL and called the guy. I was interested in the amp by itself but he won't seperate. The TT is a Pioneer PL-670 and I don't know that it would be an upgrade from my current Kenwood DK-9XB. The casssette is a JVC KD-10 and I haven't found much info on it... but it's probably a little better than what I have currently. The Fisher speakers seem to bring around $50 plus $50 ship on ebay so I would probably try to sell them locally. The CD appears to be a basic Realistic nothing really special. So the key ? is how high would you go to try to get the amp and the rest be considered just extra gravy to sell as time allows. If he will take $200 I may jump on it, I plan to go by and see them Tue or Wed. Anyone here have any experience w/ the amp or other components? Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

What amp? You don't mention what it is.

Thanks heiney9-- I'm an idiot, had the wife and my 16mo in my ear and forgot to post the link and the amp is a kenwood KR 9400. This is what I get when I don't preview.

That's a vintage receiver, not an amp.

If you've got your heart set on a vintage Kenwood - then do what your heart tells you.

I think flipping all of the other stuff just to get that receiver would be too much work, imo. Look for a better deal.

Are you really looking for a receiver or just an amp?

You're right of course Eric, it is an integrated vintage piece. The kenwood would just be for fun for 2 channel listening. I'm currently using a vintage Pioneer SA-6500 II rated at 30wpc and believe this Kenwood is rated around 120wpc so I thought it might be a nice addition to my gear. Having the built in tuner would be a nice plus as well as I'm hoping the phono section might have less noise than my current Pio which needs a good cleaning. If he would sell the KR9400 for $150 by itself, I'd probably jump all over it and be happy, I'm just not sure I can justify spending close to $300 and have to take the time to part out the rest.

Those speakers have a classic vintage look to them, maybe get them and find some killer drivers to replace the originals? I like the kenwood receiver.

^ yeah the speakers look like nice cabienets, and they are Fisher xp65's which seem to be an ok vintage spk but nothing really special.. I'll stick to my Monitor 7 and 10's and try to flip these if I decide to pick them up. It's the integrated tuner/amp that I'm really interested and seems to have some love over on AK so I really don't know.
