First off, Hello everybody of Club POLK!! I just started using Polk audio's car speakers and subwoofers, loving every second of it!

Who else is a fan? I just completed my car system in my 2004 Chevy Cavalier with DXi460's, 690's, and 124's. Sounds immaculate. I was competing with my friend who has kicker CVR 12's, with a complete KS series system, and I can honestly say my system is louder, cleaner, better. Anda i can also tell ya i dont have the best amp in the world, just sony explode, as does he. Literally both have the 800w, 340w rms, 2 channel amp. My next project is to get the really nice 5 channel amp that Polk makes, powering my subs adequately :D

    Welcome to the club!

Glad to hear your system sounds great! I wish i could upgrade my speakers in my car. I did just add a DXi 112 with a PA880, but that seems all I can do :(.

Aww man, i wish i had an amp other than my deck, which is great for what it is, has a 7 band EQ which is nice, but no USB input. I got a 2 channel surewood amp, labeled for 70w RMS, but idk if i wanna power it to my 6x9's or 4x6's, then possibly bridging my deck's amp to 2 channel, lol. I dont think its possible or practical.

I need to get a nice 4 channel amp by polk though, that's alot more in my price range than the 5 channel right about now, hahaha.

I quarentee you once you get either PA1100.5 or PA500.4 and PA600.1 (or even 1200.1) u'll notice the difference right away.
I just installed PA200.4 (which only does 40W x 4 or 90W by 2 bridged) in my friends car instead of his BOSS amp (that had some bs 1600W label on it lol) and both of us were shocked how much better the sound became right away. Clearer, LOUDER (even with "pathetic" 40W x 4), alternator while was gone, no hiss at all unlike with BOSS's amp. It was like an instant cure to all of his car audio parasites lol.

Yeah, im going to invest into the 4 channel. The car i bought came with Boss speakers and thats the reason i was even influenced in the first place to buy better speakers, lol. The 4 channel amp going to my speakers will do wonders, lol. Can't wait for that clean, crisp sound.

Actually nevermind, i've been looking at this nice kenwood, a Kenwood KAC-9105D, thats 1 ohm stable, and fits my price range. I wanna wire my 2 12's to that amp after i buy it in parrellel, tuning it down to give them 200-400, watts rms each. 600-800 total, when they can hand a grand total of 720 watts rms together, but we all know speakers can handle more than they are rated. The sony explode i got now will work fine when i wire my speakers back in series with 2 channels instead of an unstable 2 ohm bridge connection, which isnt working.. lol.

However, this kenwood is nice, 500 rms @ 4 ohms, 1800 @ 1 ohm. i got DVC, this can be great :D

    Any reccomendations?

Not sure where you got 1800 @ 1ohm. Here's what Crutchfield says:
    500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (900 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)
1-ohm stable (output regulated to 900 watts)

Well, yeah. Halving the resistence of 2 ohms to 1, yet again doubles the power output, normally. If it's regulated at 900 watts rms for 1 ohm, thats perfect for me, or else i'd have to tune the amp down to 1/3 gain, hah.

I go on crutchfield alot, and thats where i found this amp. I think it'll be perfect.

You would get 900 watts even at 1 ohm. Which means 450 watts per sub which is plenty. However, even at 450 watts per sub, keep the gains at about 1/3.
