I read the resurrected thread (09/09/09 - The Beatles) today in its entirety and have to say it was a good read, thanks to all who participated. I wanted to add that the thread made me purchase the book Revolution in the Head as suggested, can't wait to read it. Anyway I wanted to pose a question regarding the new Beatle remasters. Has anyone compared these to the box sets entitled The Capitol Albums Vol I and II that were released in 2004 and 2006 ? These box sets also contain the mono mixes and I was wondering if anyone had both and how they stacked up ? Cheers.

That's a great question about the mono versions between the 2 (technically 3) sets. I have not done a comparison. I will now though because you've sparked my interest.

I can say that Help and Rubber Soul in stereo on the Capitol Versions are completely different than the newer boxed set (and in my opinion much better). I will get back to you about the mono releases.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
