Front set-up

My set-up is: AVR=Denon 2803
Front= RTi70's (biwired)
Center= Csi40 (biwired)
Side surround= FXi50's
Rear surround= RTi38's
Sony 12" sub
I changed my sub wiring from line level speaker wire connection to a RCA monster cable connection. My subwoofer is low passed at 175hz and the receiver sub x-over is set at 100hz. Do I still set the front speaker to large or switch them to small? I am trying to calibrate my system with a SPL Meter today. I would greatly appreciate any help!
Thanks!

P.S. Also, when I access the speaker volume levels menu on the 2803, the master volume resets at a 00 level. Does this mean that when changing the master volume level w/center channel, The new master level becomes a new reference point to which the other speakers are varied from? If anyone can understand what the hell I just wrote!
Receiver = Denon AVR-3803
DVD = Denon DV-2900
Fronts = SDA SRS 2.3TL's
(Carver m1.5t)
Center = CSi40
Side surrounds = Fxi30's
Sony 12" sub
TV = Hitachi 57F500

Bedroom rig:
Pioneer SX-1050 receiver
Rti38's

    I have my RTi70 set to large, with the sub crossed over at 65-70hz. I found this suits me best...

    What sub do you have? Mine is a really **** 150watt 12', that I am going to replace in the future. I just don't know how far I can push it.

    I have a dual 12" M&K -- not sure where you found a 12' sub but I wish I had one... ;)

    Yeah, a 12' subwoofer would be pretty sweet, although that 150 watts seems on the lean side for such a monster.

    acdds - I think most people will recommend that you run all of your speakers on 'small,' and set your receiver's bass management to 80Hz. Your sub's low pass at 175Hz is fine, just don't set it below 80Hz. Some subs have a 'direct' setting, or it may be worded otherwise, which disables the subwoofer's internal crossover; yours may also, I don't know, but if it does use it.

    I'm the type of guy that runs everything flat, no tone control, no variable volume settings for different channels etc. This is, of course, if speakers are of a similar sensitivity, which yours are. Do, however, make certain to inform the Denon of the distance between you and your various speakers.

    Most subwoofers with cheap drivers cant handle anything above 80. Mine dosnt even like 65-70hz. Because when you do that you are asking the sub to do alot more than it can....
