They certainly made them look close... just need to burn a hole in the middle.

They might be the same as the ones discussed in the thread linked below:

    Same company anyway.

Thanks for the link. It says modification to cabinet may be required, probably be easier to just buy the ones from polk. Nice to know there's a backup plan .

I went and read over it and I'm still wondering if they are quality sounding replacement options for the older models from Polk.

I'll still stick with the RDO's for newer models replacements but I do have some older ones with peerless and maybe could use these for other projects where delicacy or detail is required.

Real Peerless aren't that hard to come by & are cheaper. If comparing to RDO's, after shipping, price is the same as the real deal. It would be interesting to buy one & compare just for the sake of finding out if they're a quality replacement. But other than that...

The only problem with real Peerless is that they're all old, and used, and could "check out" at any time. As with tires and various other things, brand new is a good thing.

I haven't read about this either. The veterans probably did it years ago and moved on knowing their results. I like the idea of a new great sounding Peerless copy compaired to buying an older one to. But I think I have seen some that sold for 30.00 ea. not that long ago.

Cost seems to be equal across the board with this issue.

All of my Peerless tweeters are playing fine right now. In the future if one goes bad, I'll buy one of these copies and post a result in a thread titled:

    "Peerless tweeter copies"

Maybe the search will hit on that title easily.
