Matching surrounds and center to my RT8's

I have some 3 year old RT8's and need to know what Polk still offers that will match them. It looks like the R10's will match my speakers for the surrounds and the CS175i would match for a center channel, but is there anything a little beefier that would be voice matched to my RT8's? My RT8's have the silk dome tweeter and all the new stuff uses the trilaminate tweeter. Does the trilaminate match the silk dome pretty good or should I stick with the silk dome tweeters? Also, it looks like the R10 is basically the same as the CS175i. Single R10's are half the price of the CS175i so I'm curious if I could use an R10 for center channel too. Are there any centers with dual 5 1/4" and a tweeter that would match my RT8's? Someone help me out here!

If your looking for a beefy center channel, try to listen to the polk cs400i. It has a dual 6 1/2 drivers. You don't want to skimp on your center channel cause if you watch a lot of movies the center channel has to work hard. You can probably pick up one at circuit city for a lot less than they use to be. I bought their store display for $229. I really like my cs400i it can handle a lot of power and it matches really well with the rt551's. As for surrounds, I can't really suggest anything cause I am looking for one myself. So if you find one let me know. I hope this helps. Let me know how you like the cs400i if you get a chance to listen to it. Make sure you bring a good cd or dvd to listen to. Later.SONY 4ES RECEIVER

Yes, R10's will work well, or the fx300....
If I had your setup, I would be looking for an older 350 or 200 model center to timbre up with your mains....
The 245 or 400 will do fine also, if you want to go the new route.....

I think I will go buy the R10's since they are on sale at CC for $80 a pair and then decide what to do about the center channel. Maybe I can hunt down the older model on ebay or something in good condition. If not, maybe the newer models will have to do. Is there a big difference between the silk dome and trilaminate tweeter?

I've got a buddy that has a pair of R40's and uses an older CS350LS, that has the tri-lam tweeter, sounds pretty sweet to me. If you go the new route, I don't think you will be disappointed with the tri-lam.

Yeah, thanks for the info to this forum Joe. I picked up the R10's today at CC and I like them. I'm running a Pionner VSX-3600 reciever right now (11 years old) but am getting a HK AVR-520 for xmas so I can't wait to see if that makes a big difference or not. I still need to work on a good center channel though.
